HRU ECO4

A competitively priced, high specification, HR unit - up to 91% efficient- with DC motors for ultra low power consumption. Automatic frost protection & summer bypass for extremes of temperature are fitted as standard. Supplied with a choice of controls- either 3 speed rotary switch or wireless remote control with timed boost function. Maximum capacity of 325cu.m./hr.  Wall mounted. SAP Appendix Q approved (MVHR most efficient SFP).

HRUECO4m

This unit is ideal for all new houses built with levels of air-tightness. Its sophisticated counter-flow heat exchanger can recover up to 91% of extracted air.

The table below shows the different models that are available. The design is the same for both houses and apartments, the only difference being in the arrangement of the duct connections and motor modules. For a house, the air supply is at the lower part of the unit; and the upper part for apartments. Both upper and lower connections can be used for extract air, and unused ones are sealed with caps.

All exhaust and supply connections are 150mm internal diameter (180mm outer)

In the heat exchanger the incoming and outgoing air moves through triangular channels, in opposite directions, which gives a huge surface area. This is what gives the unit such high efficiency. (Photo on the right shows the heat exchanger being removed)

The HRU ECO4 has a built-in summer bypass valve which diverts the air supply past the heat exchanger, so the extracted air does not pre-heat the incoming air. (See daigram below.)

The HR unit also has a frost protection device built in, which prevents the heat exchanger from freezing. It consists of a valve in the upper part of the unit. See the diagram on the right:

Filter

G4 filter

Two energy efficient DC motors power the HRU ECO4. The impellers have backward curved blades which help to keep it clean and maximise the capacity of the supply and extract fans.

The unit has two G3 filters. One between the exhaust outlet and the heat exchanger, which ensures that dust and grease area absorbed. The second is between the air inlet and the heat exchanger. Both filters can be easily removed for cleaning (every 6 months) and replacing (once a year).

SAPtest

This unit is certified as being Appendix Q Eligible having been test at BRE - see test results on the right

Remotecontrol

The HRU ECO4 can be controlled by either a wired 3 speed controller, or a remote controller with timer.
